This is our understanding of what it means to be Church in the Anabaptist tradition. 

We believe our community of faith is a place where 

• we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength 
• we follow Jesus Christ, God’s Son, in daily life 
• the Holy Spirit is God’s breath of life within us 
• biblical salvation, grace, justice, peace, love and righteousness are foundational 

In our life together we desire that 

• worship be creative, vibrant, and pleasing to God 
• diversity among us be welcomed and embraced 
• truth, honesty and health become a way of life 
• lovingly hold one another accountable to a new and different way of living 
• visitors be embraced and welcomed to return 
• brothers and sisters care and pray for each other as the body of Christ 
• our healing journeys of transformation be encouraged and respected 
• joy, discovery and excitement be a vital part of our lives 
• beauty and creativity be valued as coming from the 

Creation In reaching beyond ourselves we aspire to 

• be part of the kingdom of God at work on Cabbage Hill and beyond 
• encourage everyone to participate according to their gifts and talents 
• live simply and be faithful stewards of our resources 
• continually build up new servant leaders 
• see ourselves as broken persons who don’t measure up, yet still reflect God’s face 
• practice peace, non-violence, forgiveness and reconciliation freely among us 
• join our visions and dreams to God’s in order to bear fruit 
• connect to, depend on, and serve the wider church 

I covenant to be an alive part of this community of faith and commit myself to worship regularly, serve actively, love generously, pray faithfully, give abundantly, study eagerly and fall in love with God over and over, through Jesus Christ our Lord!
